• Seahawks add a defensive playmaker in Round 1: Tennessee’s James Pearce Jr. would give Mike Macdonald’s defense another pass-rushing weapon.

• Offensive tackle on Day 2: Arizona’s Jonah Savaiinaea would add immediate depth.

The Seahawks were up and down in head coach Mike Macdonald’s first year in charge, but have found their groove down the stretch and currently lead the NFC West.

Next year will give them the opportunity to bolster their team on both sides of the ball, but in particular, to find more defenders who fit Macdonald’s scheme and style. Here is a look at how we would draft for the Seahawks if the 2025 NFL Draft were today.

Round 1 (23): EDGE James Pearce Jr., Tennessee

Pearce was once considered the favorite to be the No. 1 overall selection and has impressed as a pass-rusher for the second year in a row. Heading into the College Football Playoff, he has earned an 89.6 PFF pass-rushing grade, registering 52 total pressures from 233 pass-rushing snaps.

Round 2 (55): OT Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona

Savaiinaea has improved every season of his career in college football as a pass blocker, and posted a career-high 83.4 PFF pass-blocking grade in 2024. He allowed 16 total pressures from 738 pass-blocking snaps, six of which were sacks or quarterback hits.

Round 3 (87): DI Derrick Harmon, Oregon

Harmon’s lone season at Oregon has seen him take a big leap forward as a pass rusher. Heading into the College Football Playoff, he has generated an 84.2 PFF pass-rushing grade, racking up 50 total pressures 30 more than in any other season in his college career.
