Fields

Fields was a Chicago Bears first-round pick and by mid-2021, he already became a borderline fantasy starter. He averaged 17.2 fantasy points per game over the second half of the season. Then in 2022, he had an incredible stretch as a runner and was the sixth-best fantasy quarterback thanks to his rushing. He posted the most rushing yards by a quarterback in a regular season game in NFL history at 178 yards and two other games in the top 13 from that season.

Fields didn’t have as many huge rushing performances in 2023, but it was still good enough to finish as a top-12 quarterback by fantasy points despite having a below-average passing grade. He has been a fantasy starter regardless of the talent around him.

He’s now with the Pittsburgh Steelers, competing with Russell Wilson for the starting job. There is certainly a chance whoever wins the job before Week 1 doesn’t end up being the starter throughout the season. Fields won’t be a starter in fantasy if he’s not a starter for the Steelers, but there is a good chance Fields would be a fantasy starter if he’s starting for the Steelers, thanks to his rushing. That makes him more valuable than several players we know will be starting because they don’t have that upside to score enough fantasy points.
