Achane

His rushing numbers were absurd, ranking as the top running back in seven of eight situations, which isn’t entirely fair given he only totaled 103 carries compared to three seasons by most running backs. As a receiver, his grade was great thanks to his avoided tackle and high target rates, but his big-play ability hasn’t transferred over to being a receiver yet. Playing time will be a question, but the best way Achane will be able to overcome that is by making the plays in the passing game he’s been able to make in the rushing game.

Achane's next big problem is his competition for touches. Raheem Mostert also graded in the 90s as a runner last season and is still expected to see double-digit touches each game. He turned 32 years old this spring, so he’s much older than you would expect a running back to be, but we also didn’t expect him to do the things he did at 31. The Dolphins added Jaylen Wright in the draft who is an explosive, fast running back who is a top-tier athlete who lacks experience. They also have Jeff Wilson Jr. who they’ve relied on in the past, and Chris Brooks, who also graded very well on a small sample.

Achane is the riskiest running back with a top-12 ADP. If he improves as a receiver, stays healthy and sees a small increase in touches, he has a chance to be a league-winning RB1. There is also a chance that he continues to miss time here and there with an injury, his opportunities don’t increase and his rate stats inevitably regress. His size mixed with his rookie production is so unique that it’s harder to predict him than most players.
